You don’t have to live near the water to enjoy bright and joyful ambiance of these beachy dining room designs.
The fun thing about beach house design is it bridges different decor and design styles into one that is truly unique to who you are. Coastal design can range from rustic to modern and it all just works.
Using natural elements and color you typically see in coastal areas you can create a space that takes on a beachy vibe but doesn’t seem out of place for where you are.
Think about light and neutral browns like driftwood you can find scattered up the Pacific northwest.
Or vibrant greens like the Palm tree fronds of South Beach Miami.
Ocean blues like the bold navy California Coast or the tranquil turquoise of the Caribbean.
Let’s not forget lots of white like the sparkly white sandy beaches of the Florida Gulf Coastline.
Why I chose beachy design
I have mentioned before my home nods to the nautical, even though I live land-locked in the Arizona desert. Being born and raised in California, I have a seriously hard time adopting the adobe browns and have kokopellis adorning on my walls.
Don’t get me wrong, southwestern style is beautiful for many reasons and I totally appreciate it and enjoy it..in other peoples homes… but I have to be true to me, and me is BEACHY.
Could also be that I’m a triple Wood, so I need to be surrounded by lots of water and wood elements to feel at ease. The dry and earthy desert decor would suffocate me. But, more on that in another fun Feng Shui post to come..
